A global peace system is a sequence of complimentary steps that combine to prompt a paradigm shift from a dysfunctional, high-risk, high-cost war system to a legitimate, cost-effective system for advancing positive peace. The process includes developing appropriate institutions, norms and viable policy options; second, to dismantle the causes of war, direct, structural and cultural violence now prevalent in a dominant war system and the unwarranted influence of a global military-industrial complex; and, third ,to support alternative approaches to conflict transformation, which advance sustainable common security.
